I haven't made a blog post in forever as usual!!! And now it's October lol... anyway I WATCHED LINKIN PARK'S UNSHATTER DOCUMENTARY TODAY WITH MY MUM AND ELDEST SIBLING, IT WAS AMAZINGGGG. Yes this will have spoilers so be warned.
First off, the opening was peak. I love the creation interludes/intros and stuff and starting the documentary with concert footage really set the tone it was hype. As for the documentary bits, I definitely think anyone still unsure about Emily should watch the doc, even my mum has changed her mind about Emily and likes her now.
When you watched the sessions and such it felt really natural (like, the band slowly getting back together and then having two new members easing into it) and hearing everyone's thoughts was really nice as sad as the circumstances were.
One of my favorite things about the movie were the various song quotes and instrumentals, I wasn't expecting that but it was really nice to especially hear The Messenger and Iridescent as A Thousand Suns is my favorite album ever.
Speaking of A Thousand Suns, I knew the Catalyst would be in the movie but I had no idea when/where to expect it and when its interlude started I nearly freaked, I hadn't been prepared for it yet XD but I got super hyped waiting for the song to start!!! Super happy they included the interlude.
It was a perfect balance of documentary and concert clips, I saw a lot of people saying it was imbalanced but it felt pretty balanced to me, there were more songs than I was expecting and oh boy, I was dancing in my seat and singing at a low volume it was so so fun, my cinema didn't really have anyone but there were some people in my row so I was staying fairly quiet to be respectful.
Shockingly I didn't really cry, I thought I would cry during the movie but I didn't aside from during Lost but Lost is a really meaningful song to me and heavy hitting as I relate to it very much so I shed a few tears. I also did get choked up during the bridge of Catalyst but that's a right of passage for me.
I loved when... was it Brad or Phoenix? -raghhh my brain is scrambled- talked about kintsugi and how that is a good metaphor for the band, I love kintsugi and I think that's a perfect description of Linkin Park.
My thoughts are so out of order but OVER AGAIN FROM POST TRAUMATIC... Oh my goodness I was not expecting thatttt there were a lot of things I wasn't expecting like during Emptiness Machine it started as the launch show and then transitioned into the Sao Paulo show that was SO COOLLLL!!!
Also... the ending where it was all of them on stage after Bleed It Out and it said From Zero before glitching into From Xero and then cutting to Esaul footage... that was PEAK cinema.
Anyway I don't really have much more to say atm but I am in pain XD good pain though from the dancing n such. I highly recommend people to go see concert films if they can!!!!!!
